All I can say is that this is the most endearing thing to me, just look at Christopher’s reaction to the Doctor Who merchandise! He was completely floored that there was an action figure as him, he just looks down at it and realizes what he’s just taken part in. That he’s now part of a huge and iconic franchise, and what kills me the most is at the end. Where he looks down at it and remarks on his looks, he looks almost sad about his looks. Which he shouldn’t, because Christopher Eccleston is one of the most attractive actors I’ve ever seen!
omg, his face in the first one just makes me want to cry with adorableness :3
he’s like “I…I… I have a figure…? Oh, my god, I… I have a figure. Oh, my god, they don’t hate me after all.”
Oh my lord, I’m actually tearing up at the first and last gifs. He just looks so astonished and blown away that they bothered to make an action figure for him, like it had never even occurred to him that even though he’s THE DOCTOR he would be one of the people that this would happen to. God, like he thought he wasn’t worthy of being included in this wonderful family with all the other amazing people who came before him.
Sometimes, I think about the fact that Chris may not know how much the fans love and appreciate his performance as the Ninth Doctor. Sometimes I think about him leaving the show after one season, about how he so often gets overshadowed by the larger than life performances and popular momentum that came after him, about how so many people skip over him in favor of the “prettier” Doctors and better special effects. Sometimes I think about how absolutely fantastic he was and how he doesn’t seem to realize it. And when that happens, I want to curl into a ball and weep and never see the light of day ever again.
But…But he’s possibly the most important Doctor ever. He’s the Doctor who introduced a whole new generations of Whovians to the show. How could we not love the man who brought the Doctor back to life? And beside, he’s the Doctor that Rose fell in love with.
