i went home from college on a medical leave for my depression last year. we were told that the insurance company would reimburse us for a portion of the semester’s tuition.

when we got the letter, it turns out they’ll repay 60% for a medical leave… and 30% for one due to a psychiatric condition.

Walking Man is an upcoming documentary from filmmakers Josh Salzberg (Step Brothers, This is 40) and Eric Norwine (Funny or Die). The film will focus on Eric’s father, Mark, who has struggled with bipolar disorder for much of his life. To raise awareness and increase knowledge about mental illness, Mark will be walking across his home state of Missouri by way of the Katy Trail, along the way talking to friends, family, experts, and advocates about the experience of mental illness. His walk will start on April 25, 2013 in Kansas City and will end on May 11, 2013 in St. Louis with a candlelight vigil to honor those who have lost their lives to mental illness.

The filmmaking team is funding the project via a Kickstarter campaign, with $22,000 of their total budget of $82,000 raised so far. This is enough to cover their initial Missouri shooting costs, but they still need to meet their full budget goal in order to get the film made!
